إن كلمة فوركس مشتقة من كلمتي (التداول الأجنبي) باللغة الإنجليزية (وكذلك يتم الرمز له إختصاراً بحرفي إف إكس) وسوق الفوركس هو المكان الذي يتم فيه متاجرة العملات (العملات هي النقود التي تستخدم كوسيلة للتبادل). وبكلمات أخرى هو المكان الذي يتم فيه بيع وشراء العملات. في سوق الفوركس كل العملات يتم تبادلها في الوقت الحقيقي.
تداول الفوركس قد يبدو مرعباً في البداية لكنه في الحقيقة غير ذلك. ويمكن إدراكه وفهمه بدون خبرة سابقة في العلوم المالية أو الإقتصاد. أنه مليء بالتحدي والإثارة ، ورغم ذلك يمكن إدارته، محفز ومليء بالفرص.
بعض أساسيات الفوركس:
العملة الاولى في زوج العملات تسمى (العملة الأساس) .
العملة الأساس عادة هي الدولار الأمريكي. وبشكل عام فأن المتداولون سيقومون بمتاجرة الدولار الأمريكي بعملة أخرى ، والتي تسمى (العملة المقابلة).
يتم أعطاء تسعيرة العملات على شكل أزواج. فمثلاً زوج الدولار الأمريكي والين يتم اعطاء سعره بالطريقة التالية: دولار/ين 2.5 وهذا يعني أن الدولار الواحد يمكنه شراء 2.5 ين.
عندما يرتفع السعر فهذا يعني أن العملة الأساس قد إرتفعت قيمتها وأن العملة المقابلة قد إنخفضت قيمتها. مثلاً لو كان سعر الدولار/ين 2.5 في وقت سابق والأن أصبح 2.6 فهذا يعني أن الدولار قد أصبح أقوى (لأن الدولار كان يستطيع شراء 2.6 ين والأن أصبح يستطيع شراء 2.6 ين).
