The structure and structure of PSO2 isn't revolutionary, but the execution and polish in terms of gameplay is reversed. Sega has done a fantastic job of capturing and distilling the iconic flare that goes with games like this and was able to repackage it into a continuous multiplayer RPG that defies expectations. After eight years I anticipated PSO2 to feel by gaming standards, but other than some jagged edges on textures, some performance hiccups associated with the beta, and admittedly dated visuals, I'm hard-pressed to find issues worth complaining about.
Clearly I just played with the first dozen or so hours, any sport that constantly throw new mechanics to keep things fresh's moments, so I don't have any idea if it is going to start to get tedious soon or not. But my gut tells me that between the nine distinct classes and fighting styles there's lots of variety to justify playing for a very long time to come -- particularly considering it is a free-to-play MMO. Ultimately, There's no indication of what the money shop will be like from the North American edition, but hopefully it will lean toward makeup and advantage items rather than pay-to-win elements.
What I played with was a Closed Betais unfinished, and had its own share Madden nfl 20 coins (https://www.mmoexp.com/Nfl-20/Coins.html) of translation errors, but I've been assured the team is aware of that and is actively working on obtaining it in top-shape for launch this Spring on Xbox One and finally on PC after that -- including cross-play -- though there is no official word on other programs such as the North American version yet.Microsoft Adds
