نقطة المقاومة Resistance : هو السعر الذي يصعب على العملة أن ترتفع فوقة .
فالعملة قد تبدأ في الارتفاع ساعة وراء ساعة ويزداد سعرها بشكل مستمر ولكن عندما تصل إلى سعر معين تبدأ في الانخفاض من جديد ثم بعد ذلك ترتفع مرة أخرى وعندما تصل لنفس السعر السابق تعود للانخفاض وهكذا عدة مرات ولعدة أيام كلما ارتفع سعر العملة ووصل إلى هذا السعر عاد وانخفض مجدداً , فتلاحظ أنه يصعب على العملة أن تتجاوز هذا السعر , يسمى مثل هذا السعر سعر المقاومة , وهو السعر الذي يمنع – يقاوم- العملة أن ترتفع فوقة . ويمكن معرفة نقاط المقاومة بسهولة عند التدقيق في الرسم البياني لعملة .
