تحدث الفجوات السعرية لللأسهم عادة بعد اغلاق السوق وافتتاحه في اليوم التالي على فجوة سعرية و كذا ما تحدث الفجوات بعد الاغلاق السبوعى و افتتاحه لعملات و ايضاً من الممكن حدوثها اثناء التداول و على مختلف الفريمات و هى تحدث نتيجة بعض الأحداث او الأخبار على سهم معين أو عملة معينه خاصة بعد اغلاق السعر في فترة التداول السابقة فإذا ماكانت الأخبار جيده وقوية على سهم ما أو عملة ما فى احدالازواج فإن المضاربين يتجهون مباشرة الى الشراء في اليوم التالي، وبالتالي يؤدي هذا الى ارتفاع السعراعلى من اغلاق اليوم السابق. واذا استمر التداول على نفس النمط بالشراء المكثف فإن الفجوة السعرية ستظهر على الشارت
