و تقوم فكرته على أعتبار أن السعر فى حاله الأتجاه الأيجابى يغلق عادتا بالفرب من أعلى سعر و فى حاله الاتجاه الهابط يغلق بالقرب من أقل سعر و تنحصر أعداداته من 0 الى 100 و ترتكز اهميه هذا المؤشر فى انه مؤشر يحدد مناطق ذروه البيع و مناطق ذروه الشراء
